AriesWorks Entertainment announces the April 15th Call for Entries to the 9th Annual “Wild Rose”, the longest continuously running, fastest growing international film festival in Iowa!

Established filmmakers worldwide are invited to send their best features, shorts, documentaries and animated work to the “Wild Rose” at   www.ariesworks.com  or  www.withoutabox.com  to compete for prestigious screening slots and the WRIFF’s many awards in multiple categories including: cinematography, writing, production and sound design, editing, acting, directing, casting and many others.

The Wild Rose Independent Film Festival will be held November 3-10 at the Fleur Cinema and Café in Des Moines. This artsy, hip and indie -friendly theatre/coffee house/bar/cafe has proven to be a fun and convenient venue also allowing attending filmmakers and audience close proximity to a wide variety of shops, restaurants, bars and music. Just 5 minutes from both the Des Moines International Airport and Downtown Des Moines, the Fleur has proven to be a very popular location!

Bringing in renowned film industry experts and celebrities from across the country, the Wild Rose also hosts informative industry Workshops, a Filmmakers Panel featuring esteemed professionals and a Keynote Speaker for the exciting Awards Ceremony.  Past Wild Rose Presenters have included Troma Entertainment’s Lloyd Kaufman (Cannibal! The Musical, The Toxic Avenger); writer/director/producer/ film rep Stu Pollard (Nice Guys Sleep Alone, Keep Your Distance); Emmy Award-winning actor/writer, GregAlan Williams (The Sopranos, Remember the Titans, Old School, Be Cool, Haunting Villisca); actor/photographer Ben Easter  (Holiday in the Sun, Pearl Harbor, I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer, Molly’s Girl); legendary Hollywood icon/former Network Exec./ screenwriting teacher/ author Lew Hunter (Screenwriting 434); LA actress/casting director/acting coach and owner of JRose Studio, Jamie Rose (Lady Blue, Falcon Crest, ER, Children of the Corn);  John Putch, award-winning indie filmmaker (Mojave Phone Booth, Route 30, Route 30, Too!) and TV/film director (Ugly Betty, Scrubs, My name is Earl, American Pie, The Poseidon Adventure), and New York television and film actress Ellen Dolan (As the World Turns, Law and Order: SVU, Walker: Texas Ranger, If I Die Before I Wake and Molly’s Girl.)
